Jason Polangko-Kenney and his son, William, stopped by this morning. Jackson and him played together all little btter this time around. But, once little Willow found the big wheel he was in the zone. He must have pedaled a whole mile up and down the street and around the house. I snapped some fun pics to play with some new Adobe Lightroom adjustments that I've been wanting to try out. Feel free to comment if you have any feelings towards a particular style.

The Potter
The other morning I stopped by to see my friend Brad Walker on the square. We talked and laughed and I watched as he whipped up a perfect bowl in two minutes flat. He was used to posing for shots so I waited until he forgot about the camera before I took any pictures. He still had the tendency to go "Taddah!" and hold things up in the air. I told him to knock it off.
But just walking through his studio, and reading his little quotes and anecdotes that he writes on notecards scattered amongst his art, is an experience not to be missed. Brad is a true joy to be around. I think its because he loves what he does. Either that, or he has had everyone fooled for 35 years.

Alton Jarrard, The Local Barber
Alton Jarrard has worked on the Dahlonega Square since the late 60's. Owner of Woody's Barber Shop, he can easily found found in one of two places; either sitting in the fourth wooden theater chair reading the paper or walking around the first barber chair by the window. Either way, plan for a warm welcome and a few good laughs when you stop by.

The P-nut man
His actual name is still up in the air. But the locals call the P-nut man, on the corner of Burnt Stand and Auraria, Joe-L Hallman. Maybe its spelled Joel, and everyone says it funny because we live in the country. Or maybe its Joe L. Hallman. My first instinct was Joelle. I'll keep posted as the story develops. Regardless, he's not as mean as he looks, and he will let you take his picture if you buy some boiled p-nuts.

Carter Cox Photoshoot
Jason Cox and I had full range of the kids and the house while Kelli step out for groceries. While Campbell slept, I threw a bright red sweater on Carter and handed Jason a scrim to tone down the harsh sunlight.
We ran all over the yard for about an hour and had a blast. Carter was open to anything, even making him crawl into a briar patch. 330 images worth of patience! Carter is a natural.
Jason, on the other hand, well he needs some more practice. But he will get the chance next weekend when we shoot Campbell.

Meet Ray Sullens
Today I caught my next door neighbor coming home from church. He was dressed in his Sunday best and I just couldn't resist asking him to pose for an impromptu photoshoot. He really did a good job even though he didn't understand why I would want to take his picture. Thanks Ray, your so cool.
